If you are new to using a sports handicapper, sometimes called a "tout," you probably wonder what is all the talk about UNITS. It's really quite simple. The use of a Units System allows you to raise or lower your wager based on our confidence level of a specific Pick.
We use a 1000 Unit measure. Some people use 100 or even 1. Our standard Units are as follows:
What this means is, if your bankroll is $1200, your average wager should be $60, which is 5% of your bankroll. So, if we are betting football, a 3000 Unit wager is $60, and a 5000 Unit wager is $100. Conversely, a 1000 Unit baseball bet is $20.
You'll hear us talk about being up 25,000 Units on the week, which would mean you are up $500 in the above example.
Everyone starts the season or year with an amount of money they have set aside to wager on sports. Determine how much you are willing to invest, over and above your cost of our Picks, and then figure what the dollar value of 3000 Units is. Take your bankroll, multiply by 5%, and that is your baseline Unit. We use our basic football bet as your base Unit wager.
BANKROLL x .05 = BASE UNIT WAGER
